It will be either Apolo or La [2]. Out of curiosity, how many of you are going to the gig in Barcelona?adri wrote:Also, it looks like Maus is playing at the closing party and not at the festival itself, which means a smaller, more normal venue, not a festival venue.

John rarely pops in here - mama comes more often, but I think it's probably best to contact the venue.

Re: Tour Dates
Seriously, everyone!, come on out, most of YOU have seen me do this set live, but maybe some of your friends haven't, so bring THEM. Anyways, ONE of anybody on here (Mausspace) is worth a hundred million times a hundred million of anyone else who might show up at a Chairlift show, so bring yourselves and let us demonstrate, for all to see, what WE are about. But, fyi, on the nights marked elsewhere as including the band Phoenix (i.e., Minneapolis
) I WILL NOT be playing!

Re: Tour Dates
These are the only cities I'll be opening for Chairlift in as of now:
Chapel Hill
Atlanta
Baton Rouge
Austin
Denton
Phoenix
San Diego
Los Angeles
Seattle
The promoters in Chicago, Madison, Portland, etc. don't think that I will have enough of a "draw" to put me on the bill. I'd be happy to play smaller after shows if someone would like to arrange something, and you can always belly ache to the venues. For a complete list of where and when I will be go to Chairlift's homepage and then click the "tour" tab on the top. Any city other than those listed above (and the dates w/Phoenix) is a city where, as of now, I am NOT playing but rather merely lending Chairlift an extra set of hands at the keys.
Thanks...

Re: Tour Dates
I went to see John tonight in Chapel Hill and he was awesome. So happy he's touring the US. It was great to see him play "Just Wait Til Next Year" and he sounds great on keys with Chairlift. But... I didn't notice any other MausSpacers there! What the??? I know you're out there people, so the time to declare your allegiance is now! Chairlift is a great band, but their crowd didn't quite know what to make of it all. We Mausketeers must show John our undying love and support!
SO... Who's with me? Tell me what show you plan on going to and tell me what you think of the shows you've seen. And bring any friends with half a brain...
Yours in Mausdom,
Toman

Re: Tour Dates
I'm in Denton right now but I'm leaving on Friday. The show is the next day
I'd video it if I was there. There's no reason for me to write about this.

First let me talk about John Maus. Baton Rouge was not ready for John Maus. They just didn't understand.
Channeling Ariel Pink and Jim Morrison at his darkest of times as he screamed over sampled tracks, Baton Rouge thought to themselves "is this music"?
I thought it was brilliant, thanks for freaking everyone out.
