Millipedes, meat bees and biting flies

Does anyone know what John Maus references when he talks about life (I suppose he referred to) not being a "grab basket full of millipedes, meat bees and biting flies"?
I just watched his most recent interview for the australian program "The Mix" and wondered about this.

By the way, perhaps someone has a rip of that whole interview (I just saw an extract in the facebook story) or know of a functional way to access it from a location that's not in Australia? I tried various VPN's but couldn't manage to get in (might be because I'm a big n00b). From the excerpts it seemed like an interesting interview.

If you have an iPhone I can be of help. I managed it that way, that I changed my location in the app store to Australia, then downloaded the "ABC iview" app. Once you've did that, type in "The Mix" in the search bar and then when you have downloaded it you'll find the interview in the episode of the 31 of August.

After downloading the app you can change your location back to wherever you are while keeping the app without any further issues.

Hi! Reaching you a couple of months later. The video isn't on the app anymore anyway, even if you got the location change right you couldn't play it, just so you know.
Kind of disappointing they took the episode off their library.
