i had a feeling that this was going to happen, but i think that john maus has eclipsed ariel pink. how much do you guys think pitchfork is gonna love we must become the pitiless censors of ourselves?

They will hate it, despite the album being awesome. He's not Pitchfork material at the minute - you need a big label backer for a start.

haha you're probably right

but i still think his music is now fundamentally better than ariel pink's. i know they both mean different things to all of us, and that's a pretty huge generalization to make, but john maus does something for me musically that others don't.
