I'm not sure why WMG doesn't take down these other WMBtPCoO fan videos, but they blocked this on Youtube in the US and Canada. Here it is on Vimeo.

Re: We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves
I defended John's music this weekend. I showed Cop Killer to some casual friends (miserable drinking party). Naturally, the purported music theorist/nu-folk cheeseball went "meh" and stated it was too consciously retro. Showed some other songs from WMBTPCOO, he said he couldn't hear lyrics through the reverb and had a strong dislike for that "arty" stuff. Such myopia, especially coming from a music theorist. What's nu-folk music anyway BUT retro (and annoying)?
Anyway, I stated John was the greatest musician of our time, and too bad for him for not realizing it. I stated that the finest art of today should be polarizing, if not deliberately radical. Everything else in between is meant for television, radio, indie journals, etc..
Then there was intense discourse about gender impact on art and culture, but that's another story
Thank you John for confounding orthodox, so-called musicians. You know the way!

Re: We Must Become The Pitiless Censors Of Ourselves
you have not known me throughout your life. i am not 'clinically' psychotic, i was diagnosed schizoaffective bipolar type by a doctor whom is insignificant in the field, she was 'doing her job', you know... i read an ariel interview and he refers to his younger self as a columbine kid before columbine happened; i have never seen that in him. john is - do as i say, not as i do with this album and most of his motifs; suits him well, being a teacher. cop killer would have fit better on love is real, because it's probably cops and people with authoritative attitudes that make love seem unreal. i check youtube sometimes to see if john has performed cop killer live and it doesn't seem like he has. i don't think his concept is fully realized. i think his efforts are to expand economically and socially and bring people together to stimulate economy, which i'm sure sits well with any cops around. cop killing is johns romantic nightmare. and if matt keeps writing wickedly skewed gossip about me on the internet, i may be his nightmare. :cmere:

Maybe I just imagined this, but I thought I heard him say that "Cop Killer" was about killing nazis, but maybe he thinks cops are like nazis? It was on WFMU, don't really feel like relistening to it http://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/40984

i agree with you, one should not overuse a muscle/group of muscles, we should all focus on one thing at a time, otherwise it could all get tangled up and spin us around, controlling everything simultaneously, that would be scary, wouldn't it?pdouspensky wrote: (...) But on "Pitiless Censors," like he's flexing a different muscle (that sounds a little gross) for this one, but it's not like he's abandoned all the other ones he's used before.(...)

I think I'll order this (though I already have the cd anyway) and not share it with anyone!
