I used to live in New Hampshire before I moved to the UK. Boston was my go-to place for gigs - if you've been to New Hampshire then you know why. It makes me proud (and a little homesick) to see Maus fans from my 'hood (sort of).

You don't wanna be back in NH now (LadyLazarus and I are twin sisters, if anyone wanted to know), my right leg is itching like a motherfucker after an all night mozzie attack! Although I have been enjoying the sweet smell of freshly cut hay and a bottle of delicious sugar maple liqueur we bought after a winery tour here (yes, there's a winery in NH).
Need to grab those tracks when my laptop and I are reacquainted in Brooklyn, and I've been told the rarities disc is waiting for me as well (although I had hoped to get it much earlier since I pre-ordered it ages in advance)!

That's right, MA and I are twin sisters and, inevitably, both Maus maniacs. We lived in the Portsmouth/Rockingham county area, the next county over from Antrim.

Also, WHY, if I'm FROM New England, have I never heard of or tried sugar maple syrup liqueur?? This must be remedied. I love NH. I miss a lakeside fire and a starry sky and shadowy pine trees. Am going to Northern Vermont in a few weeks and cannot wait.

Can we please talk about how "All Joy for All Eternity" is a re-tooled version of "I Don't Eat Human Beings" except way way way more heartstring-pulling (at least IMO)??? I think it's the descending vocal line on the chorus ("all joy/for all...") that gets me.

I'm asking myself the same question re: maple syrup liqueur. Madam Ant better bring some of that hooch back with her when she visits me. I really miss those shadowy pine trees, too. There seems to be a lack of wilderness here in England. It's mostly bricks and mortar. Even the countryside is quite tame and tidy, with neatly clipped hedges and overly-worked fields.

Oh wow thank you John! I escape to VT and NH for a week ((where the Maus fans roam?)) and return to yr gorgeous LP and more ((this))? What more could I ask for... Oh! And there was the Pier 84 show before I left, and YES it was meaningful!, barriers and photographers were nothing well something but the music is quite something.

More slinky keys and pulsing melodies and yr voice, how nice I'm going to enjoy these songs on an early AM bike ride right now.
