Apologies in advance if this has been asked before (I did attempt an inconclusive search before resorting to this!), but I was wondering if anyone could tell me exactly what the picture is on the cover of Songs. If I remember rightly it was a painting John liked that he saw in a hotel somewhere? I haven't decided definitely yet, but I am toying with the idea of getting inked. I know people say never get a 'band' tattoo, but I believe that is a sentiment for the more fickle-natured. John Maus is for life, not just Christmas! As I said, I haven't decided yet and I'm being very careful about this as it would be my first (and possibly last, depending on my pain threshold and general fussiness). I am at the concepting and researching stage only.

I don't know, I still think it would be kind of beautiful. I'd definitely want the couple in and the sunset they're gazing at. Maybe I'd move the tree in a bit closer and keep the checkerboard floor somehow. The Love is Real idea is cool, too, but would have to be something more significant than a generic scroll (words situated in Lacan's graph of desire? Maybe that's overthinking it). I always saw myself as having a shoulder tatt if I had any (no tramp stamps!). I don't want to go mad. I'd probably only get one or two in my lifetime so it's got to be right.

THAT'S A COOL IDEA, SEEMS LIKE IRONIC JUXTAPOSITION. I DON'T HAVE ANY TATTOOS AND HAVE RARELY SEEN ANY THAT I LIKE, BUT MY FAVES ARE SIMPLE AND ARE PLACED WELL WITH CONCERN OF FIGURE AND INTENTION. I GET REALLY DISTRACTED BY THE TATTOOS OTHER PEOPLE HAVE.

App knows how to charm a lady. And yes, one of the things I love about mausspace is the wealth of intelligent, gifted and lovely people who seem to be magnetised to it.
Sorry, Travis. You know our love can never be. Unless I get really lonely.

Still seriously mulling over this tattoo, too. Thread derailed by my alleged hotness. Someone here must know what that picture is and/or the artist responsible.
