Well, really, it's an article about new media that heavily references John Maus.
It's not too long--tho it is somewhat heavy & quite Debordian.
It leans a lot on Youtube vids.
Figure I'd share it here:

Thanks for sharing JGRUNThaner81,
good article. plan to read again more carefully.
"But if music can somehow reexamine existent forms of social organization, rethinking also the communicative potentials of New Media, then it can prepare the way for new modalities of social interaction. The musical language of John Maus, comfortably suited to the conventions of Pop, readily lends itself to these new endeavors."
I agree. Always felt that JM's music acted as precursory endeavors into a new language that is really only understood through the buffer of revisionism. One that strips all cultural references of their context, in a way that speaks to all but with another foot firmly planted into some unknowable territory that FEELS like from the future. I never felt his music worked as accurate depictions of anything, they're just constantly smudged and saturated, a little out of focus, chant like, which in a way, is the accurate emotional depiction of the past, present and future! Why present a snapshot of a time period when everything is so fluid all the time?
