'Furry fandom' is a legitimate subculture which is host to its own social conventions, genre fanzines and online communities. It doesn't have to be a rodent, RareGoat. In fact, any fluffy anthropomorphic costume is probably acceptable. Generally the emphasis is on fictional characters, however. Just a bit of friendly role-playing. Then there are the fur piles. I'm no expert, (and I don't think the sexuality is always an aspect of this fandom) but I find sexual fetishes pretty fascinating.
Maybe Patch can elaborate more.

If I were a Furry I'd be a kitty cat. I can't stand being too hot though, so the costume would pose a problem.

I think it's funny how everyone seems to have an opinion on John's wardrobe. So many have come forth with suggestions for an updated style for him. I've seen his shirt, jeans and trainers combo described as 'the college look.' I don't believe he needs a stylist, but in case anyone wants to apply, I think we all know how he feels about 'assless chaps.' So stay away from those.

-- What if he actually wore a star trek suit?? And all the fans wore a star trek suit also!! Like, did anyone see those cryptic tweets he did a while back about "Frank James"??(aka John Maus). It was something along the lines of, "This 'Frank James' did a great show last night, but I wish there were more star trek uniforms in the crowd."

It would be a lot of fun, I think! But not all the time of course. Maybe just one once, for halloween or something.
