Bennington
Well I still love the girl from Bennington
Even though I'll never see her eyes
I love those fucking eyes
But I still love the girl
Time and time again
I'll see her in my dreams
Time and time again
I'll see her in my dreams
Time and time again
Time and time again
Well I still love the girl from Bennington
Even though I'll see her eyes
I love those fucking eyes
Those eyes won't leave my mind
Just for one night
[??]
Just for one night
Just for one night
Bennington
Well I still love the girl from Bennington
Even though I'll never see her eyes
I love those fucking eyes
But I still love the girl
Time and time again
I'll see her in my dreams
Time and time again
I'll see her in my dreams
Time and time again
Time and time again
Well I still love the girl from Bennington
Even though I'll see her eyes
I love those fucking eyes
Those eyes won't leave my mind
Just for one night
[??]
Just for one night
Just for one night

I think the last lines might be:
Just for one night
And now I'll miss her my whole life
Just for one night
Just for one night
Just for one night
And now I'll miss her my whole life
Just for one night
Just for one night

And you are telling me that this is a lyric. I just don’t believe it. Isn’t this forum and threads in it supposed to be awesome with great lyrics. I think I am just bumping onto something worse. Sorry for my comment, but that was my view on this to be honest.

Have you heard the song? This isn't a poetry forum.
'Awesome' is subjective when it comes to lyrics. I generally prefer the oblique and the obtuse in my verses. Some artists are all about the words and want to paint a very clear picture; some would rather leave a lurid impression on the listener's imagination. To me, Maus' lyrics capture something of the pure essence of a feeling. Anyway, he's previously remarked in interviews that he views a rigid dichotomy between song lyrics and poetry. I think he would be the last person to compare himself to Baudelaire.

I just realized how bitchy that sounded. Sorry. I didn't mean it that way.
