Re: New Tour
I was so ready to make a weekend trip to Paris, thinking that it would be John's last show for awhile. Now, I think I'm going to use even more of my vacation time! Very interested in this new solo experience, as I only became a fan before the Screen Memories tour. Nice to see he's still going to be working, I sure hope he's doing well.

Re: New Tour
If you're seeing any of these shows, don't forget to report back here on how they go! Jealous of all who are attending.

Re: New Tour
That Paris gig was awesome, sound was huge, they sounded like new mixes to me at times, check out that video, loudly, i dont know how he can do that to his voice every night. I remember John saying recently that he wanted to experiment with the way the sound was pushed out at the shows, be interesting to know if anybody attending this tour reports this is noticeable. Sounds great anyway.

Re: New Tour
I saw him at BIME LIVE, I was one hour before the show. Expectations were high. He was doing the soundcheck with Gary War and his brother Kevin. There were four speakers behind him, a lot of lights for the show. In Maniac he has his vocals already recorded over the song. That's a few of the different things I noticed Poe! Sadly I didn't get to talk to him.

Re: New Tour
Cool thanks for the report, that youtube video of the Paris concert has maybe the best sound recording of any concert clip, i guess it was done more professionally than most, but listening loud on headphones made me wonder if some of the music he is touring with has been remixed, maybe it was just how it came off the desk, it all sounded great to me anyway, but y'know, no change there.
Cheers.
Cheers.

Re: New Tour
I think I read - and it was evident at the show - that John has a new 7-channel audio set up with new mixes for all the music. Five speakers behind him on stage and two at the front left and right. Looked a little monolithic! The sound was noticeably more clear and cutting, very loud. I think because the room was a straightforward auditorium venue the nuances of 7-channel sound was lost a bit (a less conventional space might be best for this. I saw a cool video of John in Berlin playing in a round pit venue!) but the clarity of the synth tracks was so cool. Felt like high-def Maus.
