I have to put together some music

Post by dean »

I have been told to bring along some mix CDs to play between acts at the Blackpool gig.

Uhhhh......

What should I put on.

It is a pretty wide mix of bands there, but we also have to cater for the birthday people:

Dunbar is into 60s surf stuff, rockabilly, and Tarantino-esque soundtracks. He's really into Billy Childish & The Wildebeests, New York Dolls (who I know nothing about), Clancy is a bit easier going and will listen to anything really.

I just need a mix that will include some bands for the above, but also stuff that will fit in with the party. PLEASE HELP!

I don't really need anything. I just really need recommendations - like, what songs etc.

I'm trying to get out of this by the way, as I can't really make mix CDs that a lot of people will like, it just tends to be rubbish I listen to :sadparty:

Thanks Nikos. I'm going to speak to Caz tonight though, and try and get out of this. I know I'll be rubbish. Also Liam, your mix looks fine - however you can't really have John Maus on a mix when he is also playing. I think there is a criminal law about that somewhere.

I've thrown something together. It is going to be such a wide variation of people there that it would be impossible to put stuff on for everybody to like, so I just threw on some tracks that could go down okay.

Animal Collective, Nouvelle Vague, The Blow, CFTPA, Of Montreal, Sugarcubes, Wolf Parade, Vampire Weekend, I chucked on some Ariel Pink and Harry Merry too - just for my own amusement really :sadluvparty:

I told Caz that I would not be offended if they went with the regular Riffs rock music though :D

After all that I didn't really notice the background music until your CD had finished & Bon Jovi came on & I asked you if your Cd was still playing tee hee.

I think that's a good sign? 8D
