I'm not a big fan of lists. Or pitchfork.
But, I noticed that Mausman's "Believer" was ranked the 99th best track of the last ten years:

Deserves to be #1!
This is my first post, by the way, I'm Connor!

Pitchfork is bullshit. Still, I was disappointed to see him so low on the list. I didn't look through the entire list but i'm assuming believer was the only one on it. It seemed like the same artists popped up through the entire list...

And Skrillex was on it... Pitchfork's opinion means bupkis to me, too, but recognition is recognition, I guess. Even if by some mechanised bullshit factory like P4K.

greetingz, connor!
oh man, why did i go to that webpage. . i feel guilty for acknowledging it and giving them another url hit
. these '10 best of/100 songs to hear/20 greatest moments of/top 50 artists,' they're so cheap and shallow, but WHY are they so easy and appealing to read?? why! why!?!

yeah, that list is a steaming pile of horse shit.
i dont even know if im happy they're there.. i suppose its nice to see them represented among a pantheon of non-contributions. but its all just answering to money and popularity again, look at the length of kanye west's paragraph reviews as opposed to anyone elses.. it's a list written with fear, and the potential of gaining more readers, instead of the truth of how good the songs are.
i mean look at some of the staff lists.. who cares about their opinions.
fuck them, and their timewasting lives.

Yeah, I really dislike pitchfork. Anytime I read a review by them I end up nearly vomiting in my own mouth.
Do you guys have recommendations for good music blogs or websites that you follow?
I used to follow a couple of blogs pretty religiously back from like 08' until '10 - eventually I sort of fell out of the loop with them and now pretty much none of them exist (or they aren't the same).

I always liked The Owl Magazine. I used to write there once, but not too much. I don't agree with all their recommendations, but then again, music is subjective: http://www.theowlmag.com/category/album-reviews/

This may be more of a printed syndication, but I've always been partial to The Big Takeover. It is New York based and run by founding editor, punk rocker, DJ and indie labelmeister Jack Rabid. I first noticed it in a record shop when I was about fifteen and it opened up my whole world. I used to send Jack letters and emails waxing poetically about my favorite punk bands and he would always reply in full, usually with hand-written notes and CDrs.
Worth noting that "Quantum Leap" made an editorial list of The Big T's Top Ten Songs of 2011 here: http://www.bigtakeover.com/top-ten/Chris-Davis-111211
